Fire Risk Assessments
Following the implementation of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the requirements for fire safety in buildings is placed upon the 'Responsible Person' in workplaces and some common areas of dwellings. Under fire safety law , employers must carry out a fire risk assessment that looks at removing and reducing the risk of fire. Fire Risk Assessments should be reviewed and updated continuously to keep them current. In particular, they should be updated following any change in premises, processes or the number of employees, or if a 'near miss' or an actual fire has occurred. It is good practice to review it at least annually. BEA Fire Safety Ltd takes responsibility for the whole process from the initial assessment, recommendations for improvements through to periodic reviews.
Be aware that the fire risk assessment must be completed by a 'Competent Person'. The definition of a 'Competent Person' is defined as a person with enough training and experience or knowledge and other qualities to enable them properly to assist in undertaking the preventative and protective measures.
For further details of the changes please contact us.
Fire Safety Training
Training to the standards required in the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 can be provided at three levels dependant on your requirements.
The initial one-hour fire safety training for employees covers fire and its consequences, fire safety including actions to be taken in the event of a fire, portable fire fighting equipment, building fire safety and fire safety signs.
The 60-minute employee fire extinguisher training session allows the opportunity for employees to have a hands on practical experience of portable fire extinguishers
The half-day Fire warden course covers all aspects above plus the responsibilities of a Fire Warden, fire risk assessment and practical use of fire fighting equipment.
Each course is designed for approximately 20 persons. The price is based on using the existing facilities at your premises and is per session not per person. Off site venues can be arranged at additional costs.
In addition to the required courses detailed above we are able to offer the following courses:
* Evacuation Chair & Ski Pad Training
* PEEPs Training and Evacuation
* Fire Evacuation
* Fire Safety in High-Rise flats and Housing Schemes
* Fire Safety in Residential Care Homes
* Fire Safety in Schools
(This list is not exhaustive and we can cater for clients' specific requirements)
Fire Extinguishers
Servicing:
Our BAFE qualified engineers service most makes and types of fire extinguishers. We work in accordance with BS5306, industry best practice and manufacturers' recommendations. In line with other areas of our business, our focus is firmly on quality of service and value for money.
We carry out annual servicing of extinguishers and complete all necessary documentation. The British Standard requires all extinguishers to undergo an 'extended service' at prescribed intervals. As part of our promise to provide a value-for-money service, often it is more cost-effective for our clients to opt for a service exchange extinguisher in these instances.
We work extensively throughout the UK and our servicing costs are amongst the most competitive in our industry. In addition, we can often offer a substantial discount to clients who sign up for a 'package' consisting of a fire risk assessment and extinguisher servicing. Please contact us with your requirements, we would be happy to give you a quotation.
Supply:
We supply a wide variety of quality fire extinguishers, ranging from budget service exchange units through to prestige polished stainless steel extinguishers. In addition we also supply a complete range of extinguisher stands and cabinets.
Please contact us with your requirements and we would be happy to give you a quotation.
Fire Detection and Emergency Lighting
We are happy to advise on requirements for detection and lighting and would be pleased to recommend suitable approved contractors for installations and servicing.
